TABLE OF CONTENTS
Image Requirements
The following images are required to create listings:
- Properties (Exterior, interior, key focal points, atmospheric images, special building features)
- Spaces (Exterior, interior, focal points, special building features)
Important to note:
- For best results, there should be a minimum of 3 images per property and space.
- Images should be in JPEG or PNG format.
- Images should have a minimum size of 1200x900 PX
- Files should be no bigger than 5 MB.
- Organization logo's look best when they are saved as SVG or PNG files.
- Organization logo's should be a minimum of 600x600 PX
Image Quality
We recommended taking the time to produce good images of properties and spaces. This helps to make locations stand out and appear more attractive to tenants. It is possible to achieve good, crisp images by using a mobile device to take pictures.
iPhone camera settings
Optimize iPhone camera settings for best results:
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and select Camera.
- Scroll down and uncheck "Prioritize faster shots".
Prioritize faster shots means your iPhone will take higher quality photos, but it will reduce how quickly it takes a photo. This setting may want to be reset once you have finished taking pictures of spaces.
Android camera settings
Optimize Android camera settings:
- Open the camera app on your Android device. Menu names may differ slightly depending on the manufacturer.
- Tap the gear icon. A list of settings is displayed.
- Find and select Image Properties or Image Quality (also Image Size or Image Resolution). If you see options like "Standard", "Low", and/or "High", you are correct.
- Select "High." This will save photos at the highest resolution possible.
Set the scene
Prepare the area
Make sure the area is clean and tidy. Remove any temporary signs and arrange furniture so that the room is clearly on display.
Lighting
Lighting conditions differ from room to room. If there is natural daylight, it is recommended to take pictures during the morning or afternoon. Avoid bright direct sunlight, cloudy conditions are best for taking pictures. If there is no natural light, make sure that the room is well lit.
Persons & moving objects
Try to avoid getting people in pictures, if this is unavoidable, they should be blurred out of the picture. Also try to ensure that there are no moving objects such as cars in the shot.
Shot composition
Consider the angle and orientation to which a picture is taken. Try to get as much of the room as possible in the shot, it is best to take images in landscape orientation.
Sharing images
Be aware of how images are shared. Apps such as WhatsApp greatly reduce image quality. It is recommended that images are shared via email, or with a shared folder (e.g. Google Drive or Dropbox).
Filters or editing
Please do not add any filters or edit images. This can reduce the quality and create inconsistent looking images.
